HON. MUSA TARAWALLY RAISES OVER 4 BILLION LEONES IN LESS THAN A YEAR

The Hon. Minister of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, Hon. Musa Tarawally, has set another record in the history of that Ministry as being one of the Ministers who have successfully generated, in less than one year the highest revenue from fees levied for various activities and services provided. According to investigations gathered the Minister made that remarkable achievement as a result of providing good leadership, capacity building for members of staff and ensuring that leakages that existed before he went to that Ministry were blocked.

Sounding the views of the Land workers to give tangible reasons for that commendable achievement most of them frankly stated that he is a man of action who does not encourage idleness but always ensures that things are done wisely. “ This is the kind of result-oriented Ministers this country requires if we are to achieve prosperity,” a female civil servant intimated with a sense of pride.

Another maintained that Musa Tarawally is a visionary who has performed well in all the Ministries he has occupied as a Minister recalling that he is a determined personality who believes that things must be done the way they should be further that four billion Leones is indeed a colossal amount of money which will enable the Government to undertake development projects.

A man who identified himself as Mohamed Kargbo argued that some people who do not know the Honorable Minister will think that he is a difficult person to work with noting that knowing very well he is the most suitable person one may want to work with as he is a patient man, very innovative, ready to listen from others and to seek advice.
He added that raising such an amount as revenue illustrates good performance and team work maintaining that when as a nation we are able to mobilize resources internally then government will be in a better position to embark on more development activities. Kargbo pointed out that other Ministers need to emulate the good example of the Minister to push this country forward. 


During a privileged conversation the Minister intimated this medium that , “the only way we can be sustainable as a nation is to change and increase our revenue generation drive, make the Lands ministry more cost effective.” 


He further noted that building team spirit and establishing a conducive working atmosphere will all enable workers provide the required results. He noted that under his determined and focused leadership towards the establishment of an appropriate system and procedures for the management and administration of proper land use.

The minister further explained his commitment to develop a Biometric registration of land to satisfy ownership, claim and security of ownership. This will make land as a financial instrument for economic activity. This project will also establish a platform for government to generate millions of dollars.
He also spoke about the plans that have put in place so far to decentralize the land system so that those living in the provincial areas will find it less burdensome when it comes to legalize their ownership of land.
The Minister further noted that his ministry is in the process of undertaking a geospatial survey in partnership with multilateral companies to identify and demarcate our natural resource capacity for the provision of a development plan. 

He maintained that the survey will collect data on our water sources for hydro distribution and irrigation purposes, forest reserve for environmental, economic and tourist development, mining deposit for mineral activity and topographic survey for infrastructural and city development. “The Geospatial survey will provide for government and potential investors information for proper decision on national development planning for investment purposes,” he continued furthering such will make land available further adequate post economic and national development programme. 

The minister further expressed his total commitment for the promotion of the ministry.
